Second Life on your cell phone?

By Eric Reuters

Running Second Life on a cell phone isn’t a brand new idea — Comverse was talking about the idea well over a year ago. But Vollee has taken the idea out of the lab and into public beta. The premise is to use Vollee’s servers as an intermediary between the cell phone and Linden Lab. By logging into the virtual world on your cell phone, Vollee makes a connection to the Second Life Grid and handles the technical heavy lifting of rendering objects. The company then streams video output to your phone like any other media file.

More info to come as we get it.
