Metaverse development company Rivers Run Red won a Webby award for Branded Content for their work promoting Coca-Cola in Second Life.

The Webbys are considered among the highest awards for work in new media. The Rivers Run Red win follows the Emmys won by Linden Lab, vMTV, and the Electric Sheep Company for virtual worlds work earlier this year.

“The win gives validation to Second Life as a medium,” said Rivers Run Red’s Mimi Harris in a telephone interview. “And it speaks really well to machinima addicts.”

The company made available a clip of their work for the beverage giant available on YouTube.
