Excuse me while I kiss the sky

Linden Lab is on the acquisition trail, announcing on Monday that it has purchased graphics technology from Boston-based Windward Mark Interactive including Windlight, an “advanced atmospheric rendering technology,” and Nimble, “a realistic 3D cloud simulator.”
The purchase price was not disclosed.
Want more? “The company’s WindLight® technology uses patent-pending algorithms that imitate the ways in which light is affected by real-world atmospheric factors like dust and moisture, enabling the nuances of sunlight, clouds, water and weather to be accurately simulated in real-time.”
Want less? As Torley Linden says on the company blog, “Long story short: killer skies and kickass environments.”
Oh, and don’t get to attached to the current celestial dome. Torley warns: “WindLight is a replacement for the current archaic sky, which is long past its expiration date.”
