Linden signs Integrity Services for age verification

Linden Lab secured Integrity Services to provide age verification services in Second Life on Thursday morning, according to spokesmen for the two companies.
Reuters had reported no deal existed between the two companies at the time of Linden’s announcement of a new age verification initiative. Integrity spokesman Michael Colopy said Linden’s premature statement grew out of a misunderstanding. “The engineers had been engaged for quite some time,” he said.
Daniel Huebner, director of community relations for Linden, confirmed the deal. Huebner said he hoped to implement age verification in Second Life as soon as possible, but the exact timing hinged on technical considerations.
“We’re starting internal testing today,” Huebner said.
