Is Zee Linden breaking new ground in virtual world economics? While real-world money is usually defined as a medium of exchange, or more specifically as the most marketable commodity, the Linden dollar is apparently a bit different:

“Technically, the L$ is a limited license right to participate in and use certain features of Second Life.”

Professor Castronova, any thoughts?
